Who We Are

Once upon a time, in a world of unruly eczema, our founder bravely embarked on a quest to find the perfect skincare solution. Back in the day, the options were as scarce – just some greasy, grainy shea butter with a scent that could knock you off your feet!

All she had was raw shea butter, which, let’s be honest, felt like rubbing a buttery cloud on her skin – greasy, grainy, and not exactly a scent from a field of roses. But she was no quitter! As she grew older, she discovered the art of body butter and oils, but they were like trying to put a square peg in a round hole, not quite the texture she craved.

Fast forward to her young adult days, and she finally had access to fancy beauty creams, but they were rare & expensive in the Kenyan market. As a hobbyist scientist, she dove headfirst into the world of emulsified butter incorporating local botanicals and some of her community’s beauty secrets, and BOOM! A passion was born, and Busu was on its way.

Years of experiments later, she concocted a body butter cream so dreamy, it was like a unicorn granting all her skin wishes – texture, scent, and nourishment. She shared it with her tribe of friends and family, and they couldn’t get enough! Busu was alive and kicking.
